Christmas

We had a great Christmas this year! The kids slept in till 8:00am which was helpful! We went to Grandma & Grandpa Coleman's for the annual Christmas Eve bingo night. Then on Christmas morning Grandma & Grandpa Coleman came to watch them open their presents. Austin got a new game chair as well as xbox games. McKenna got an Ipod touch and Jarrin got a remote control helicopter and some wii games. The big gift was finding out they are going on a trip to Washington D.C in April. Austin had to inform us he already knew about it, but McKenna & Jarrin were surprised!

Jarrin's Christmas Concert

Jarrin is doing a great job playing his violin. He has learned a lot just since the beginning of the school year. He has been going to extra after-school practices as well.

Dance Recital

McKenna's dance class put on a Christmas Recital. Her group performed three routines: The nutcracker, a jazz routine, and a lyrical. They did a great job! They have only been practicing since September, so that is very impressive that they had three routines learned and ready to perform by December.

Basketball Game

McKenna's dance team performed at the boys' basketball game half time. They performed a lyrical that they had prepared for their dance recital. They did an awesome job!

I also got some shots of Austin playing in the pep band. I had the zoom lens on so he didn't even know I was taking his picture.

Christmas Festival

The Christmas festival was a lot of fun this year. I had a booth with Terra and Kim for the Relay for Life and Jarrin and Austin performed. Jarrin played his violin as well as doing a small speaking part, which he did great at! Austin played with the high school band. They sounded great. He didn't think so, but we did!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was at Grandma & Grandpa Kurtz' this year. The little boys played outside with nerf guns most of the day. The girls hiked around and the big boys played computers, ipod, or whatever. After dinner we played a round of apples to apples (the kids' favorite). We are thankful for families!

Erin's Baptism

Erin has been taking the missionary lessons at our house for the past month and a half. We have had such an awesome experience being there with her during the lessons. Jarrin has been so impressed with the missionaries! That is where the inspiration for his Halloween costume came from. Erin decided to be baptized last Wednesday. Jacob Southwick bapitized her. Darrin gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. It was a beautiful baptism. Today she was confirmed by Gene Drake in the 7th ward. We are going to miss having them over every week for lessons! They all came over tonight for one more lesson, dinner, and a little Apples to Apples! Like the missionaries said, it was a great ending to an awesome 6 weeks!

Halloween

For Halloween this year McKenna dressed as an 80's rock star! Can't believe kids think that was soooo long ago!! It made me feel like I was back in the 80's to be able to rat her bangs and put bright blue eye shadow on her! Jarrin came up with his costume all on his own. I took him to every costume store, but he decided he wanted to be a missionary! He got so much attention. Everyone thought his costume was so cute. He wanted to keep trick or treating because everyone was making such a fuss over him! McKenna went trick or treating with Erika and Briana and Darrin and I took Jarrin around. It was a fun night!

String Concert

Jarrin started playing the violin this year. He has to go to school at 7:30am three mornings a week, which is a struggle. But we make it, although sometimes a little late. He was able to play the warm-ups they do every morning as well as Hot Cross Buns. He is liking it a lot.

Japanese Visitors

The students from Kakamigahara, Japan came to visit again this year. Our host son for the three days was Yuki Yokoyama. He was a lot of fun. The first few meals we served him he had to take pictures of. He enjoyed trying all the foods we fixed for him. He brought several gifts, including some very strange tasting crackers. The first night with him we taught him to carve pumpkins and how to play yahtzee. We also had a Mario Cart battle on the Wii. The last night we had a reception for the entire group at the middle school. We enjoyed great entertainment and a spaghetti dinner. The japanese students performed a traditional dance and sang a beautiful song. We enjoyed having him stay and I think he had a great time too. Jarrin really grew to like him and especially liked playing Wii with Yuki.

Black Out Game!

The last home game of the season was against South Sevier. It was also the "blackout" game. I really like their uniforms! They also won, which was great!

Hike to the "K"!

Jarrin made it to the top!

Jarrin has been wanting to climb to the "K" for a long time. We finally made it! He did really well. He only fell once.

KHS Homecoming

Homecoming week at KHS! Cowboys beat Parowan in a great game! Austin marched with the pep band through the whole parade then ran back to the front of the parade so he could ride on the football float. I couldn't get him to dress up for any of the dress up days, but I think he had a fun week.

Cowboy Football!!

Here is Austin playing in his first home football game! He plays wide receiver and defensive back. This is his first year ever playing football and he is having a great time!

First Day of School

Jarrin is in Mrs. Heaton's 2nd grade.

Austin's first day of high school!! I have a feeling this is the start of a very fast 4 years :(

McKenna is in 6th grade this year and she is in my homeroom.
